The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department partnered with the Capital Area Soccer League (CASL) in the fall of 2012 to renovate the three fields at the Smith Creek Soccer Center.
Per the terms of the agreement, PRCR and CASL shared the cost of installing an in-ground irrigation system, re-grading the field surfaces and installing Bermuda sod.
The project is now complete and all three fields are open for play.
“One of our primary goals was to enhance the quality of the playing conditions of the fields which will provide a better service to the citizens of Wake Forest,” said PRCR Director Ruben Wall. “This was a great partnership and we look forward to continuing our relationship with CASL in the future.”
Wall also thanked area residents for their patience and cooperation.
“We especially want to thank the residents for their patience during this process,” he said. “We hope everyone enjoys the fields for many years to come.”
