The Wake Forest Police Department does a hell of a lot for the community. We don’t know how they have time to get everything done, bag perps, and offer such a great hand to the community through charity events.
As an example of their dedication, the Wake Forest Police Department’s Golf Tournament for the Kids is coming up on Monday, October 7. According to the Town of Wake Forest “the event kicks off with a shotgun start at 12:00 noon at Brevofield Golf Links, 13601 Camp Kanata Road, Wake Forest.”
The Wake Forest Police Department is also sponsoring its seventh annual Turkey Drive to help less fortunate area residents. More information here.
The Wake Forest News thinks the WFPD could increase donation efficiency and reduce community service hours so members of the WFPD can spend a bit more time with their families by combining turkey donations with a golf tournament that just uses a real shotgun start.
A hole in one could be awarded by players either actually making a hole in one or achieving par and bagging a turkey on the same hole.
It seems like a perfectly acceptable idea to us. We approached the Wake Forest Police Department and suggested the idea and judging by the laughter they must not be seriously contemplating the event for next year.
