This year’s 68th annual Wake Forest Community Christmas Dinner will be held at 6:30pm on Monday, December 7th at the Forks Cafeteria on 339 S. Brooks Street. The dinner ushers in the holiday season with a comfortable southern menu of fried chicken, roast beef, bread, sides, and dessert. The invocation will be offered by the Reverend Dr. Donald Warren of Wake Forest United Methodist Church. Mayor Vivian Jones will present the Volunteer of the Year Award, Organization of the Year Award, and Peggy Allen Lifetime Achievement Award, and this year’s entertainment comes from Laura Cashwell, who will sing a selection of classic Christmas carols and lead the final singalong.
Tickets cost $15 each and are available at the Wake Forest Chamber of Commerce, the Wake Forest Historical Museum, and the offices of The Wake Weekly. Additional tickets are being sold through local organizations such as the DAR, the Wake Forest Rotary, and the Wake Forest Woman’s Club.
