Free Holiday Concert Sunday

The Free Spirits Ensemble of the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra will perform a free holiday concert at the Alston-Massenburg Center this Sunday, Dec. 6, at 3 p.m. The Alston-Massenburg Center is located at 416 N. Taylor St.

Offering interesting stories that inspired several Christmas classics, the program is sure to provide a hearty dose of holiday spirit for both the young and the young at heart.

In addition to traditional holiday favorites, Sunday’s concert will feature two original works by Raleigh composer Lanette Lind. Lind’s work “The Brightest Light” tells the story of three children of different faiths who, by sharing, create The Brightest Light. The program will close with her latest work, “Santa’s Gift to the Monsters.”

Sponsored by Wake Forest ARTS and the Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department, the Dec. 6 program promises an entertaining afternoon of holiday fun for the entire family.
