Football state championship match-ups set

All eight N.C. High School Athletic Association football state championship match-ups are now set.

After Friday’s regional championship games, the champions from the east will face the champions from the west in each of the eight classifications on Dec. 11 and Dec. 12 in Raleigh, Chapel Hill and Winston-Salem.

For the purposes of the scoreboard and sidelines, the western champion will be designated as the home team and the eastern champion will be the visiting team.

One game will be played on Friday night at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill – the 3-A state championship between Rocky Mount and South Point.

Each of the other seven games will be played on Saturday.
