Harry Edward Anderson

WAKE FOREST
Harry Edward Anderson, 71, passed away on December 4, 2015 after a brief bout with cancer. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and uncle, a wonderful friend and mentor to many, and NC State University’s biggest fan. Harry was born in Louisa, Virginia to the late Edward Otis Anderson and Dorothy Edmonia Martin. A 1966 graduate of NC State, Harry went on to serve as Club Manager at the NC State Faculty Club for twenty five years.

Harry enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter, though this did not get in the way of his love for all of God’s creatures, especially the birds and deer he fed for years following his retirement. Harry had many passions, but none bigger than his love of NC State athletics, of which he held lifetime rights in football, basketball, and baseball. He was one of the very few that could claim being at both of the Wolfpack’s National Championship wins.

He is survived by his wife of forty eight years, Judith Shepherd Anderson, daughter Maura Anderson Spencer and son-in-law Raymond Gerald Spencer of Durham, NC, son Logan Harry Anderson of Raleigh, NC, sister and brother-in-law Phyllis and Luther Sims of Mechanicsville, VA, brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Hope Anderson of Louisa, VA, brother Allen Anderson of Louisa, VA. He was preceded in death by a beloved sister-in-law Joan Anderson. He is also survived by his beloved dogs, cats, grand-dogs and grand-cats.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 7, 2015 from 7-8:30pm at Bright Funeral Home in Wake Forest, NC.

A celebration of his life will begin at 2pm at Bright Funeral Home in Wake Forest, NC on Tuesday, December 8, 2015.
