Police searching for man in Raleigh hotel robbery

— Raleigh police are searching for a suspect who is believed to be connected to a robbery at a Super 8 hotel Sunday afternoon.

Officers responded to a reported home invasion robbery involving an armed suspect at the hotel located at 2501 South Saunders Street. Shortly after, a pickup truck that was possibly linked to the robbery was seen leaving the area and an officer attempted to catch up with it, police said.

The truck was found abandoned in the 200 block of Seagrams Court a short time later.

Police said that the suspect was described as a black man with a stocky build who was about five feet six inches tall. The man had some facial hair and was wearing a plaid shirt and tan or brown jacket.

Police were working Sunday afternoon to locate the man. Anybody with information about the crime is asked to call 911.
