Police Need Help Finding Hit-and-Run Driver

The Wake Forest Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying and locating the driver of the vehicle that struck a Wake Forest High School student Monday morning.

At approximately 7 a.m. a 14-year-old male was struck by the driver’s side mirror of a black or dark-colored 15-passenger van while crossing the 400 block of Stadium Drive. The driver of the van stopped for a moment, but then drove away.

The juvenile suffered a broken right clavicle and several broken bones in his foot.

As a result of the accident, the driver’s side mirror broke off the hit-and-run vehicle which investigators say likely belonged to a Chevrolet Express Passenger Van made between 2003 and 2012.

Anyone with information that might assist the investigation is encouraged to call the Police Department Tip Line at 919-435-9610. All calls are confidential.
