The Wake Forest Police Department has joined the party and charged a Raleigh man in connection with the October 8th armed robbery of a Wake Forest woman along the 6200 block of Ridgemount Street.
Our exceptionally brilliant Wake Forest resident reportedly triggered her car alarm when she was allegedly confronted and scared off the robber who was wearing a ski mask and black gloves.
Last night, Wake Forest Police charged Walter Kevin Johnson, 28, with one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon. The charge was one of 23 filed against Johnson by the Wake Forest Police Department, the Raleigh Police Department and the Wake County Sheriff’s Office for a series of crimes throughout North Raleigh and Wake County from Sept. 22 through Oct. 8.
Johnson is currently being held in the Wake County Detention Center under a $3.5 million bond. His first court appearance is Monday.
Johnson has been charged previously with crimes in Durham, Orange and Vance counties. In Orange County in 2001, Johnson was charged four times with robbery in a six-month period.
