Monday cloudy, but cooldown won’t come until week’s end

— Clouds will dominate on Monday and a band or two of scattered sprinkles and showers is likely in the afternoon, WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner said, but the cold front that crosses the state Monday into Tuesday won’t have too much of an effect on the unseasonably warm temperatures.

Monday’s forecast calls for another day in the low 70s, conditions that are able 20 degrees warmer than normal for mid-December.

“It will be cloudy, windy at times and rather humid Monday,” Gardner said. “The rain chances appear highest from around midday through the afternoon.”
