Bus, car collision knocks out lights, power in downtown Raleigh

— A collision between a Go Raleigh bus and a passenger car in downtown Raleigh Monday morning knocked out street lights, knocked down a power pole and injured several people.

The bus hit a Ford Taurus just after 9 a.m. in the 200 block of West Edenton Street, near Hillsborough Street, and came to rest on the grounds of a church. It did not appear that the bus did any damage to the church structure.

Traffic was being diverted off Hillsborough Street and onto McDowell Street.
