The Town of Wake Forest will close the northbound lane of North Main Street from West Juniper Avenue to West Chestnut Avenue on Thursday, Nov. 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The temporary road closure is necessary to allow crews to replace a broken electric distribution pole.
Detour signs will direct traffic around the work area by diverting motorists left onto West Juniper Avenue, right onto North College Street, left onto West Cedar Avenue, right onto North Wingate Street and right onto West Oak Avenue. Minor delays are expected and motorists are encouraged to take an alternate route if possible.
In the event of inclement weather, the work will be postponed until Friday.
The town will close the eastbound lane of East Wait Avenue from Havisham Court to Traditions Grande Boulevard on Friday, Nov. 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The closure is necessary to allow tree crews to prune several trees in the area. The trees are interfering with power lines and pose a potential safety hazard.
Detour signs and flaggers will direct traffic around the work area. Minor delays are expected and motorists are urged to take an alternate route if possible.
In the event of inclement weather, the work will be postponed until Monday.
