Raleigh, N.C. — A 75-year-old man in a wheelchair was hit and killed Sunday morning near the intersection of Raleigh and Martin Luther King boulevards, authorities said.
Officers were dispatched to a crash between a car and pedestrian in a wheelchair at about 11:20 a.m.
According to a wreck report, Harold Smith, 75, was crossing east to west outside of the crosswalk on South Raleigh Boulevard when he was hit by a car driven by Kimberly Renee Jones, 37.
Smith was taken to WakeMed where he later died.
No charges have been filed, but the crash remains under investigation.
