Chapel Hill, N.C. — Just days before the Tar Heels punched their ticket to the Final Four, their mascot had another reason to celebrate.
Rameses, the mascot of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Tar Heels, is a new father to twins. The caretakers of the Horned Dorset ram family that has provided Carolina’s mascots for decades said the latest additions to the family, Ollie and Marvin were born to Rameses XXII and Stella on March 22 at around 3 p.m.
Marvin or Ollie could one day watch the Tar Heels play in person. For this weekend, the costumed Rameses will play the mascot role in Houston.
