Traffic Alert – South Wingate Street

Park Construction of NC, Inc., a contractor working on behalf of the City of Raleigh Public Utilities Department, will close a 200-foot section of South Wingate Street, in the vicinity of the Boys & Girls Club, on Saturday and Sunday, April 9-10.

The closed section of South Wingate Street will extend 200 feet from Durham Road/NC 98 south towards West Sycamore Avenue. The closure is necessary to allow crews to install a new sewer line as part of the Richland Creek Sanitary Sewer Interceptor Project.

Detour signs will be in place to direct traffic around the work area.

The contractor will maintain entrances and exits to local residents and their properties.

The Richland Creek Sanitary Sewer Interceptor Project is expected to be completed later this month. The initiative is one of the City of Raleigh’s Capital Improvement Projects designed to improve the Town of Wake Forest service area water system.
