The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department and the Recreation Advisory Board will join with 13 parks and recreation departments across our state to host a North Carolina Recreation & Park Association (NCRPA) Recre8 5k on Saturday, April 16. Check-in on the day of the race starts at 8 a.m. and the race begins at 9:30 a.m. This family-friendly event will start and finish at E. Carroll Joyner Park, 701 Harris Road.
Registration is available online through April 14 at www.ncparkrun.com/#!wake-fores/o1nd3. The entry fee is $ 45. Registrations will not be accepted on the day of the race.
Designed to raise awareness of parks and recreation in North Carolina and raise funds to support the advancement of recreation in our state, the NCRPA Recre8 5k is an untimed race for both children and adults.
“Our goal is to engage the entire community,” said PRCR Director Ruben Wall. “We invite runners, walkers and park enthusiasts for a fun-filled family event that will bring our community together to promote an active outdoor lifestyle.”
