Phyllis Ann Denton May

Oct 12, 1948 – Apr 12, 2016

Phyllis Ann Denton May, 67, of Rolesville, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016. She was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Gladys Horton Denton and Joseph Proctor Denton.

Ann worked 39 years for the State of North Carolina and was awarded at her retirement “The Order of the Long Leaf Pine”. She loved gardening and working in her flowers and feeding the deer, squirrels and birds that would show up daily in her back yard. She loved restoring her Victorian home and collecting antique furniture. She also loved collecting Native American Jewelry, especially that designed by Navajo Silversmith, Thomas Singer. She loved traveling with Bill to all the US States and anywhere Rod Stewart was performing, seeing him in concert 72 times. Her favorite places were Santa Fa, San Francisco and Monument Valley. Ann had the sweetest soft spoken soul and always put others needs before her own, even until the end.
