NC Wanted: Charlotte family continues search for Kyle Fleischmann

— A 24-year-old college graduate vanished without a trace on Nov. 9 2007 in downtown Charlotte.

Despite video of his last known location—and a $50,000 reward—the fate of Kyle Fleischmann still remains unknown. Fleischmann

“He was a great guy,” said Suzanne Robertson, Fleishmann’s friend. “A warm heart; a big person.”

Authorities said Fleishmann was attending a standup comedy act at Charlotte Bobcats Arena—now Time Warner Cable Arena—and then moved on to the Buckhead Saloon on East 5th Street in downtown Charlotte.

Surveillance video shows Fleishmann leaving the bar around 2:20 a.m. Detectives said he left his bank card at the bar.

In another video recorded five minutes late, he bought food at Fuel Pizza.

“We really want to keep his story and his name alive,” Robertson said.

Authorities said he made his last phone call at 3 a.m.

“He didn’t leave any messages on the phone calls; nobody has come forward and said they saw him, so we really don’t know if he took a left or a right out of the bar,” said Fleishmann’s friend, Bryan Padgette. “He’s not just missing and sitting somewhere drinking mai tais.”

What happened afterward has puzzled Fleishmann’s family and friends for nine years, compelling them to search and mobilize on social media, while realizing their efforts may be in vain.

“I am at the belief now—after four weeks—that a crime occurred,” Fleishmann’s father, Dick, said in 2007.

Anyone with information about the disappearance of Fleishmann is asked to call the NC Wanted hotline at 1-866-439-2683. There is a $50,000 reward for information that helps solve the case.
