The Wake Forest Fire Department will conduct a controlled burn exercise at 2013 S. Main St. on Tuesday, April 19, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
No lane closures will be in effect, but heavy amounts of smoke and ash are expected. Motorists are encouraged to proceed through the area with caution or take an alternate route.
According to Fire Chief Ron Early, similar exercises are tentatively scheduled to take place along Mangum Avenue April 28-29.
