Dear Winnie,
The holidays are coming, do you have any favorite treats you and your Wake Forest squirrel friends especially enjoy?

Dear Janet,
Why thank you for asking. Yes, my family has a favorite recipe we’ve passed down through the generations.
As you can see it is especially squirrel friendly. I give these treats away in special holiday tins I find along the road and tie them with a nice piece of found twine and a couple of aged acorns attached.
I hope you enjoy this treat. Think of me when you make it.
If you have a favorite holiday recipe, please share it with me in the comments below.
Winnie’s Nut & Berry Bark
1 lb. dark melting chocolate
1-1/2 cups sweetened dried cranberries
1 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup white melting chocolate
Melt dark chocolate in a large saucepan over low heat; stir until smooth.
Add cranberries and walnuts; stir to coat well.
Pour onto a wax paper lined baking sheet.
Melt white chocolate; drizzle over dark chocolate layer.
Let stand until set, refrigerating if necessary.
Break up into serving-size pieces. Store in an airtight container. Makes about 1-1/2 pounds.
