Well that’s what we were led to believe when the call went out this morning for a commercial structure fire in Rolesville.
It sure sounded serious.
But since we were there and figured the good people at the Rolesville Fire Department don’t get enough love and exposure, we thought we’d share the event with you.
But in traditional fire dispatch fashion, where 90% of the calls are not much to look at, it did get everyone off their butts for a few minutes and a chance to play with the lights and sirens.

Unfortunately the Rolesville fire station is just down the street from the Dollar General at 411 S. Main Street so they barely got a couple of woos out before they arrived. It might have been a three woo run.

It turned out to be some HVAC part that got a little warm. All was good so there is no need to worry that all the good stuff melted down at Dollar General today.
As far as sharing some of our exciting scene photography with you, it was a bit of a “not much to show” event. And to prove it, we are showing you the best photos we’ve got.

The only reason we wound up there was because Wake Forest Engine 3 was originally dispatched to the fire. When we arrived they were nowhere to be found. They probably went to get some Egg McMuffins at the nearby McDonald’s. Lucky bastards.
We felt compelled to go to the fire since the last time we heard a call at a similar address in Rolesville we ran into a bank robbery on the way over there.
Really, Does this reporter have a grudge against Firefighters? The men and woman who get up for calls in the middle of the night to help someone who is having a heart attack, or smells smoke in their home, maybe responding to a wreck? Please also remember that a large number of Firefighters are volunteers! Every year there are Firefighters that are victims of shootings while responding to a call! I am proud of my local HEROS and am very thankful that they do the jobs they do!!
Don’t get where you are coming from? How in the world can this article be misconstrued as a grudge when it totally isn’t?
