Heritage Plumber Gets Crazy Crafty for Christmas

Thanks to reader Janet Striegel who contacted us here, we learned about the amazing mad plumbing skills of Anthony Strossi.

Anthony and his wife Darlene moved to Heritage about two years ago from Clayton and brought their Christmas tradition with them, PVC holiday decorations.

Strossi has some crazy savant skill of being able to build the most wonderful Christmas decorations out of the same PVC pipe he works with all the time as a plumber. If you didn’t look closely you’d never catch on these illuminated creations are made out of the same stuff the fluids you don’t want, leave your house in.

He said the idea just came to him and his first creation began with a simple sketch. He then applied his skills as a plumber and brought his vision to life.

We managed to get there just at the right time as Strossi was replacing the blown nose of Rudolph, or whatever he calls the lead PVC reindeer.

Anthony’s wife Darlene seems to be just as in love with these whimsical creations as he is. He says it was her suggestion to expand the flock of reindeer from three to the current stable of nine. Where he puts all this stuff for the rest of the year is a question we should have asked.

The decorations were laced with candy canes as about 40 kids were soon going to descend on their house to hunt down holiday treats.

The Strossi’s are their children are a lovely family who just seem enjoy the heck out of the holidays and sharing the joy that a bit of PVC pipe can bring to all who have the good fortune to visit the house at 1116 Heritage Knoll Drive in Wake Forest. If you do decide to drive by to see it, be sure to tell them you learned about them from the Wake Forest News.

Let’s just hope Anthony doesn’t decide he needs a summer project and builds a 1/4 scale Mount Rushmore in the backyard. You know, now that we think about it, that would be pretty damn cool

If you do decide to load up the fam and get in the car to see the display, be sure to also visit this place as well.
