Wake Forest Police blocked off the road while medical crews attended to the driver and investigators dealt with the remainder of the police work required.

While we certainly hope for the best, it appeared the driver may have succumbed to a less than optimal outcome and expired on the side of the road.

Officially at this time the Town is saying “The Wake Forest Police Department closed all eastbound lanes from Siena Drive to South Main Street at approximately 9:30 a.m. in order to allow emergency responders to assist a motorist in distress. The individual has been transported by ambulance to WakeMed. There is no report on his condition.”

Road was closed between Siena Drive and S. Main Street.

Drivers struggled to understand the road being closed at Siena Drive and appeared to alternate between trying to make a U-turn into a ditch or drive around police officers.
