Rebecca Brantley Brown, 80, of Wake Forest, went to be with the Lord, on Sunday, May 29, 2016. She was born April 9, 1936, in Zebulon, to the late Bernard and Aurelia Brantley. Rebecca graduated in 1954 from Wakelon High School where she was class valedictorian and a cheerleader. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper at Johnson & Lamb Sporting Goods Store in Raleigh, and after raising her two children, she worked for Hallmark for many years as a bookkeeper. Rebecca was an active member of Wake Forest United Methodist Church, where she was on the communion committee and a member of the United Methodist Women. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 1 o’clock Thursday afternoon, June 2, 2016 at Wake Forest United Methodist Church. Rev. Donald Warren will preside. Burial will be in Zebulon Cemetery.

Rebecca is survived by: her loving husband, of 58 years, William R. “Bill” Brown of Wake Forest; a son, Richard A. “Tony” Brown of Charlotte; a daughter, Cynthia Brown Sinha of Atlanta, GA,; a granddaughter, Kelly Nicole Brown of Lake Norman; a sister, Patsy Pott of Hendersonville and husband, Bill; many nieces and nephews, especially Bryant Lewis and Denise Lewis of Zebulon.

Flowers are welcome or donations in Rebecca’s memory may be made to the Wake Forest United Methodist Church, 905 S. Main St., Wake Forest 27587.
