Multiple Fire Departments Come to the Aid of a Former New Home

On Friday evening Wake Forest Fire Department, Stony Hill Fire Department, Durham Highway Fire Department, Bay Leaf Fire Department, Creedmoor Fire Department, and Brassfields Fire Department were all called in to help try to save a home under construction that was engulfed in fire.

Here is one of the dispatch calls that went out.

Just finding the brand new house under construction and on fire wasn’t dead easy since the street it is on is not one on many GPS maps yet. The home was actually on Alydar Drive, a short street which is actually a court. The closest major intersection is Blue Larkspur Ave and New Light Road at the far edge of Wake Forest.

Alydar Drive

The structure was a new home under construction and it certainly is a total loss. Firefighters looked on and were ready to fight a structure fire but it was unable to be saved.

There was not much to save since the new home was only partial constructed at the time of the fire.

With all the fire departments that came to try to help the neighboring residents there was little room for many of them to fit on to the little court called Alydar Drive.

A Bay Leaf Fire Department ladder truck and Stony Hill pumper truck are just some of the 15 or more fire trucks that crowded in to fight the house fire.

The fire service will conduct a thorough exam following the fire to determine if there is any reason to believe the fire was intentionally set.

Major hat tip and props to a wonderful Wake Forest News Facebook reader Wendy Callahan who sent us the video you see above and who also called 911.
