Youngsville FD & EMS Get a Strange One With the Post Office

A little after 3 PM on Saturday, emergency responders in the Youngsville area received a call for help. It seems a two vehicles were involved in an accident on Sid Mitchell Road. If you want to monitor emergency radio traffic in the area, click here.

When we arrived on the scene it was a bit of a mystery what happened. What we saw were a bunch of EMS folks, a Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputy, and fire department members walking in and out of the woods.

We see the emergency responders but where is the accident?

It seems the two cars involved had somehow played chase me into the woods after the collision.

It wasn’t till later that we noticed there were two different sets of tire tracks leading off the road and up the hill into the woods. So it seems the white car struck the yellow pickup truck on the side and somehow they both veered into the woods, landing one in front of the other.

Neither sleet, nor, snow, nor pine trees, etc.

It appeared the Post Office pickup truck was struck right at the driver side door.

The white car had damage primarly to the front passenger side. We will let you hypothesize how it happened. All we can offer was a statement from the young driver who allegedly said the truck pulled out in front of her.

A big hat tip to the awesome Franklin County Sheriff’s Office for doing such an exceptional job managing the scene.

While Youngsville Rescue & EMS was on the scene it did not appear anyone was transported to the hospital for treatment.
