Betty Ann Hall Wilkinson, 87, died Wednesday, December 7, 2016. She was born August 14, 1929, in Winston Salem, to the late Ellis Hall and Rachel Evans Hall. Betty Ann was a graduate of Reynolds High School and Meredith College. While at Meredith, she was asked to go on a blind date which is how she met her future husband, Robert Watson Wilkinson, III.

Mrs. Wilkinson was a lifetime member of Home Moravian Church in Winston-Salem, a charter member of the Wake Forest Woman’s Club, and a member of the Wake Forest College Birthplace Society. She and her husband were both avid players in the Couples Bridge Club of Wake Forest.

A private burial will take place at Wake Forest Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Clinton Fontan Wilkinson, and her brother, Col. Ellis F. Hall.

Mrs. Wilkinson is survived by her husband of 66 years, R. Watson Wilkinson, III; two sons, Bob Wilkinson and wife, Laurie, Billy Wilkinson and wife, Gretchen; grandchildren, Mary and husband, Billy Casper, Emily and husband, David Markwood, William, Mason, and Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Wilks, June, Watson, and Mabel.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Wilkinson’s memory may be made to the Wake Forest Woman’s Club Scholarship Fund, PO Box 1614, Wake Forest, NC 27588 or to Transitions Hospice, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
