Police Charge Louisburg Man in Home Depot Assault

Wake Forest Police have charged a 31-year-old Louisburg man in connection with an assault that occurred Tuesday evening at the Wake Forest Home Depot, 11915 Capital Blvd.

Earlier today police charged Charles Sidney Mayo, 1514 East River Road, Louisburg, with one count of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

At approximately 9:05 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a reported assault at the Home Depot. Based on the preliminary investigation, Mayo argued with a cashier, then punched him in the face causing him to hit the floor. He then fled the scene.

The victim was transported to Wake Med where he remains in critical but stable condition.

Mayo is currently being held in the Franklin County Jail under $50,000 bond. His first court appearance is Monday.
