Raleigh, N.C. — Kamado Grille in north Raleigh has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
The restaurant opened last year in the old Lucky 32 location off of Spring Forest Road.
In the filing dated Dec. 12, co-founder Joseph R. Dunn indicated the restaurant had assets of $50,000 or less, and liabilities of $500,0001 to $1 million.
Among Kamado Grille’s bills included $76,781 in state taxes and $17,047 in accounting fees to Thomas, Judy and Tucker, according to the filing. The restaurant also owed more than $9,500 to Ward’s Fruit and Produce.
Thomas, Judy and Tucker has since agreed to waive the bill and will be providing services (at a maximum hourly fee of $250) to Kamado Grille throughout its bankruptcy proceedings.
A hearing is scheduled on Jan. 5.
