The Shore Grief Center is holding a new fundraising event this year – a “Comfort Food Cook Off!” It will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at The Cotton Company Event Space located at 306 S. White St. in downtown Wake Forest. The event starts at 6:00 pm with food being served until 8:00.
Local restaurants will prepare their favorite comfort food (example is pasta) and after attendees sample each one, they will vote on their favorite. These restaurants agreed to donate their time as well as food to help The Shore with their fundraiser.

- La Foresta Ristorante
- The Real McCoy’s
- Cannizzaro’s Pizza
- Texas Road House
- Virgil’s Jamaica Restaurant
- Dessert by Angus Barn
The restaurants are eager to cook up their specialties for attendees and win the first Comfort Food trophy. The Shore Grief Center will be providing a big salad to go along the wide array of food to be provided.
Attendees, after sampling the donated food, will choose their favorite comfort food and the winning restaurant will receive a trophy and bragging rights for their time and effort in supporting The Shore Grief Center.
A Silent Auction will also take place during the Cook Off with donations from several local businesses as well as live theatrical performances in Raleigh.

The Shore Grief Center is a 501c3 charitable nonprofit organization based in Wake Forest NC. The Shore provides grief support groups for kids, teens and adults who are grieving the death of a loved one. All groups are free of charge.
