Mayor Appoints Committee to Plan Football Team Celebration

town news

Mayor Vivian Jones has appointed a nine-member committee to craft a plan to celebrate Wake Forest High School’s N.C. High School Athletic Association 4AA football championship.

The Cougars defeated Greensboro Page 29-0 in Saturday’s championship becoming the first Wake County school to win a football title since 1987.

Comprised of town officials, community and civic club leaders, and Wake Forest High School boosters and supporters, the committee is expected to begin meeting in early January.

Wake Forest residents who have suggestions concerning the team celebration are encouraged to submit their ideas via the “Contact Us” link on the Town of Wake Forest website.
