Frances Carter Brown, 78, died Monday, January 2, 2017. She was born September 9, 1938 to the late Ijar Carter and Lillie Rogers Carter in Franklin County. Frances was a graduate of Millbrook High School and Sherrill’s University of Barber & Cosmetology in Raleigh. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Knightdale and a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Millbrook Chapter.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Melvin Brown, her parents, two brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held 11 am Friday, January 6th in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home, Wake Forest. Rev. Mick Bowden will officiate. Burial will follow in Raleigh Memorial Park.

Frances is survived by; two sons, Gilbert Brown and wife, Wendy of Youngsville, Monty Brown and wife, Karen of Wilmington; a daughter, Kim Ford and husband, Vaughn of Youngsville; three grandchildren, Chris, Ashlee and Graeson; three great-grandchildren, Addison, Aidan and Sawyer; two sisters, Susie Sandy of Wake Forest, Betty Lou Scheiner of Iowa; a brother, Bo Carter and wife, Deborah of Rolesville.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be made in Frances’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3739 National Dr., Raleigh, NC 27612
