This week the Wake Forest community has gone bonkers over the plight of Bob from Target. Bob is a cashier who people describe as the nicest guy in the world and who has a grandson in medical trouble.
I don’t know how old Bob is he reminds me of my father who is 83. Maybe this is Bob’s great-grandson. Ah, it doesn’t really matter. What does matter is part of Bob’s family is in trouble and the one thing people need to understand is you don’t mess with Wake Forest.
Carol and Colleen Larsen had a baby, Erik, on September 1, 2013. Erik was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia. The doctors at Duke University Medical Center have recommended a life-saving liver transplant. An estimated $55,000 is being raised by Wake Forest volunteers, with a goal to raise the first $10,000 by May 1st!
How can you not feel generous when it comes to cute babies needing a liver transplant?
The page says, “This will be a semi-surprise for Bob – we’re hoping to have hundreds of people line up to walk through a symbolic line to make donations.
You will be able to pay by check (payable to COTA, which is the Children’s Organ Transplant Association, with “Erik L” in the memo line, cash (one of Erik’s family members will be designated to receive cash and can provide a receipt upon request), or you can go online to www.cotaforerikl.com either before, during or after the event to make a donation directly to the organization.”
There is also an additional Facebook page, Miracle for Erik.
As of now 319 people have said they are going to show up for the event.
Heres a video of Erik playing with his big brother.
