Wake Forest Fire Department Fish Fry is Way Yummy

The Wake Forest Fire Department is holding the annual fish fry today. I stopped by earlier to sample the food at 420 E. Elm Avenue. I’d hate to recommend it to readers if it was not delicious. It was whatever is the next step above delicious is.

If you are on a low carb diet, make today your cheat day, and go. While the plates are only $8 it is okay to give them more and they can keep the rest as a donation. Give them a $10 bill and tell them to keep the change. The funds raised go back into the Wake Forest community.

The food is being served up till 7 PM and seating is inside the bays so there is no reason to let any rain or questionable weather hold you back.

So here is how it all works. You buy a ticket and walk around a hall where you will trade your ticket for a tray that has been prepared.

You can even have your trays put in a bag to go.

If you want to stay at the station and eat there is plenty of room.

Pull up a seat. Sit a spell.

There is also a bunch of tables with tasty baked good on them so you can totally blow the diet after you finish your meal.

The food is lovingly prepared by WFFD explorers, experienced volunteers and others.

I don't know what is in the breading for the fish but oh my it was good.

The actual frying was left to those WFFD members who really know how to handle their gas.
