The Town of Wake Forest has unveiled a Wake Forest Historic District virtual tour now available on the town’s web site.
With an easy to navigate click and play style set up, residents and guests are invited to explore the history that the downtown district and see photos of the properties while listening to a podcast for each building.
The Historic Preservation Fund awarded the Wake Forest Historic Preservation Commission a matching grant to complete the narration portion of each virtual tour. Financed in part with federal funding from the National Park Service and Department of the Interior, the grant was administered by the North Carolina State Historic Preservation Office. The narration component was completed by Blueforest Studios in Raleigh, NC.
Android and iPhone users can access both tours by downloading the Town of Wake Forest app and using the app’s “Virtual Tours” function, which also includes the Historic Wake Forest Cemetery Virtual Tour.
