Loose Leaf Collection Ends March 10

Town of Wake Forest News

Town of Wake Forest loose leaf collection service ends Friday, March 10. As a result, the week of March 6 is residents’ last chance until mid-October to place loose leaves at the curb by 7 a.m. on their normal collection day.

From Monday, March 13, through Friday, Oct. 13, residents must bag for collection all leaves, pine needles and grass clippings or place them inside a garbage receptacle marked ‘YW’ (yard waste).

In addition, residents are urged to observe the following guidelines to help improve the collection process:

  • Bags may be clear or opaque but must be at least 13-gallons in size – the size of a standard kitchen garbage can liner;

  • Do not place yard waste in grocery store shopping bags or inside Town-issued rollout garbage or recycling carts;

  • Do not mix in sticks, trash, rocks or other debris;

  • Place your bagged leaves, pine needles and grass clippings at the curb by 7 a.m. on your normal yard waste collection day.

Loose leaf collection will resume Monday, Oct. 16.
