Could It Be? Forecast Models Hint at Weekend Snow in Triangle

7-Day Forecast

— A handful of weather forecast models are hinting that a measurable amount of snow could drop on the Triangle this weekend.

“The computer models are still really all over the place in how warm it is, is it really going to be cold enough to have any frozen precipitation, or will the precipitation track far enough south to have much of an impact in our viewing area,” said WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner. “All those big questions that we’ll have to answer as we get a little closer to Sunday.”

The models progressed overnight to show more accumulation, but Gardner cautioned it’s still too far out to know exactly how the weather system will affect the Triangle.
