Crap Catches Fire at Franklin County Landfill

At about half past eleven this morning the Youngsville Fire Department met up with members of the Louisburg Fire Department to dump a whole lot of water into a trailer on fire in the Franklin County waste transfer station. Excuse me, “convenience center.”

On second thought, it kind of looks like someone threw away a perfectly good Louisburg fire truck.

Louisburg Fire Department gets up close and personal with trash fire. Very aromatic.

This must happen more often than I thought because when I stopped at the entrance to the landfill to ask if there was a fire was the gentleman said, “Just hang a right and head on back” in a very nonchalant voice.

To summarize the fire:

  • Trash was pushed into a trailer down below to haul it away.
  • Something in the load caught on fire.
  • Copious amounts of Louisburg and Youngsville water were added to the trailer.
  • The now very wet trash or very dirty mobile pool became a non-event.
One very full and wet trailer at the Franklin County landfill.

Hat tip to all the first responders who got to see your trash on fire this morning.
