A Capital Burlington Mystery Accident

Tuesday evening at about 7 PM a bunch of cars became tangled on Capital Boulevard and Burlington Mills Road. How it happened is a mystery and I’ll leave that up to the wonderful Wake Forest Police Department to decipher. However if any reader witnessed the accident, post your observations in the comments below.

Update: According to Diane Barham, “the white car ran the red light and hit the green car in the northbound lane then crossed over to the southbound lane and hit two other cars. I was sitting on the inside lane at the stop light when the white car came speeding by and hit the other car pulling out of Burlington Mills.”

Just from the looks of it I’d say it involved a northbound car and some complex physics that caused a second car to travel into the southbound turn lane to Burlington Mills Road and scrape passed an SUV with dealer plates on it only to collide with a car waiting to turn. I’d be willing to bet that driver uttered something like, “Are you kidding me here!”

You know we’ve reached more modern times when the front end collision is between a Prius and a Prius Hybrid. They both got wonderful gas mileage to the point of impact where they left a massive carbon footprint in the road.

The lonely northbound accident vehicle sits under the watchful eye of Wake Forest Fire Department Engine 2.

A Honda Civic was left with its airbags blown, sitting alone in the northbound right lane of Capital Boulevard.

There was no word on injuries.

  1. At one time I had to commute on Capital Blvd every day. After being rear-ended twice, I avoided Capital Blvd. all together and still do. You must be a very defensive driver on Capital Blvd.
