Man Blows in Pipe. Makes Girls Float.

“It was shocking,” not a single person would say who was at the Renaissance Centre in Wake Forest this afternoon for the concert by “Wild Bill” Leslie and his band, Lorica.

The place was filled with a capacity crowd. All the people there were there. Attendance actually looked very respectable to me.

Bill Leslie, who we all mostly know from his morning job reading the teleprompter due to his anchor duties at WRAL, is also a very talented musician. I think he’s a liberal trapped in a conservative body.

Bill’s voice and music were so lyrical and soothing I found myself feeling compelled to call my high school girlfriend and get dumped all over again so I could curl up in the corner and sob. Ironically now that I think about it, I don’t think I had a girlfriend in high school. Ah hell with it, I’ll just pull a nose hair and sob anyway.

Bill’s latest album was named album of the year by Men Who Wear Skirts. Actually, by World Radio. More information about Bill, appearances, and to purchase a CD, like I did, can be found here.

You know, maybe we should get Bill to sing the morning news on WRAL using his Sunday voice. It would probably soften the blow on all the bad news he has to deliver and we have to hear.

I’m so glad I got to hear Bill and Lorica perform, it was downright lovely.
