On my way back from Louisburg Sunday afternoon there was a nasty accident on the edge of Franklin County. I’m not quite sure what the area is called but it was on NC 98.
Witnesses said the driver of the car below was heading west on 98 and making a left turn into the neighborhood on Kent Street when the driver of the white car, headed in the same direction was attempting to pass.
The driver of the white car was said to have glanced off the driver side of the blue car and then went off the road, hit a tree, bounced, and came to a rest in the backyard of a very nice gentleman. Parts of the car were strewn about and there was a tire further on in the woods. He said he was just sitting on his couch when he heard a loud crash and headed outside to find a car smoldering in his backyard.
One witness described the injuries suffered by the male driving the white car as a large gash on his forehead with a large flap of skin that was hanging. Blood was seen at the scene.
The driver was treated by Franklin County EMS and presumably transported to the hospital. I left before the ambulance left so I’m assuming that’s what happened.
