Hot Reader Fire Sends Woman Running

One of our beloved readers, Tom Carlson, managed to get a lot of people up and moving this afternoon following some perfectly awesome lawn mowing. It seems Tom had finished his trim job and parked the mower back into the shed. He went on to probably get something cold to drink after that.

Tom said it wasn’t long after that he and his son noticed some smoke coming from the barn/shed and a woman running.

The reason the woman was running was because the mower was on fire. What she didn’t know was it had 3/4 a tank of gas in it.

In the battle of man versus machine, today Tom won. He appears to desperately want to give someone a bear hug to celebrate.

The amazing firefighters in Youngsville were on the scene in a flash and successfully extinguished the blaze before it did too much damage.

Tom said he had the utmost of respect for the Youngsville Fire Department and they did a great job. “It could have been worse,” he said.

He also looked over at the Wake Forest News truck and said, “Is that BS-2?”

“Why yes it is,” I said.

A number of Youngsville Fire Department trucks made it to the fire on Hillsboro. These included Engine 41, Engine 341, Engine 241, and Engine 41.
