Police have arrested three Franklinton residents in connection with a Sunday morning burglary along Thornrose Way.
Ollin Lee Estes, Jr., 1672 Morris Road, Franklinton, has been charged with one count of first degree burglary. Daniel Todd Williams and Samantha Oakley, also of 1672 Morris Road, Franklinton, have each been charged with felony possession of stolen property.
Authorities say during the early morning hours of Sept. 14, Estes, age 52, entered a residence along the 1000 block of Thornrose Way through an unlocked rear sliding glass door and stole several items while the family slept. Later, Williams, 38, and Oakley, 26, allegedly helped Estes hide the stolen items.
Following a joint investigation by the Wake Forest Police Department and the Granville County Sheriff’s Office, arrest warrants were obtained for the three subjects and all of the stolen property was recovered.
Estes, Williams and Oakley are being held at the Wake County Jail. Bond for Estes is set at $100,000, while bond for Williams and Oakley is $10,000 and $5,000 respectively.
“Our guys did a great job solving this case very quickly,” said Wake Forest Police Chief Jeff Leonard. “Thanks to their efforts, we not only captured the people responsible, but we also recovered all of the stolen property and returned it to the owner.”
The investigation is ongoing, and it has not been determined whether the incident was a random act.
However, officials are urging residents to be vigilant in preventing burglaries by locking all doors and windows, setting their home alarms and reporting suspicious activity by calling 919-554-6150.
