Joyce Harvey Wolfe was born in Jackson, Mississippi June 2, 1940 to her parents Edna Garett and LaMar Harvey. She later moved to Chicago where she met and married Lawrence Wolfe at only 17 years old.
They were blessed with three children, Pamela, David and Yolanda. They travelled a lot in Europe while her husband was in the military. Once he was discharged, they returned to Chicago and raised their children.
In 1998 Joyce and Lawrence relocated to Raleigh, NC. to be near one set of grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling lots of places, but her favorite was Hawaii. She loved to go to California and enjoy her grandchildren there. She totally loved keeping and watching her grandchildren here. She loved doing whatever she could with all her grandchildren near and far.
On Saturday January 27th, 2018 God lifted Joyce out of the mechanical lift here on earth and took her to a much better place with him in Heaven.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday afternoon, February 2, 2018 at Richland Creek Community Church 3229 Burlington Mills Rd. Wake Forest, NC 27587. Interment will follow at Wake Forest Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Wolfe, her son David Wolfe and her brother Marshall.
Those she leaves to cherish her memories are her daughter Pamela Nailes, her husband Harold Nailes and their children, Autumn, Amber, and Alexander; her daughter Yolanda Ry, her husband Daryl Ray and their children Brandy and Tyler; and her brother-in- law Lee Wolfe. She also leaves behind many other friends and relative in several states.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until the start of the service at 3:00 p.m.
