You can make a difference in our community by applying to fill one of three vacancies on the Cemetery Advisory Board (CAB). All residents of Wake Forest and its extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) are eligible to apply.
The Cemetery Advisory Board advises the Board of Commissioners and Town staff on matters affecting policies and improvements related to the Wake Forest Cemetery, 400 N. White St.
The online advisory board application is available on the Town’s website at www.wakeforestnc.gov/advisory-board-application.aspx. Anyone without computer access is invited to complete the application by using the computer kiosks in the lobby of Town Hall, 301 S. Brooks St. Hard copies are also available upon request by contacting Executive Assistant Cathi Pope at 919-435-9467 or cpope@wakeforestnc.gov.
Completed applications must be received no later than 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27.
Applicants will then be expected to attend the CAB meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 22, or Sept. 26, to introduce themselves to the board’s current members and discuss why they wish to serve. The board meets at 7 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month at Town Hall, 301 S. Brooks Street.
Following the interviews the CAB will review its slate of candidates before submitting its recommendations to the Board of Commissioners. The Board will announce the new appointments during its regular meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 16.
The selected applicants will fill the vacated seats and his or her terms will commence immediately.
