On Monday, Sept. 17, at approximately 1 a.m., Wake Forest Police arrested Arthur Vladimir Kochetkov, 33, at 6212 Tiffield Way. Kochetkov was charged with communicating threats for statements made via Facebook. He remains in custody.
Earlier today, as a result of the ongoing investigation involving Kochetkov, the charges pending against him were upgraded to a Class H felony in violation of NC General Statute 14-277.5 – Making a false report concerning mass violence on educational property.
Current conditions of Kochetkov’s release include a $100,000 secured bond with pretrial release monitoring, a mental health evaluation and prohibitions against being on the property of the Jones Dairy Elementary School. As a result of today’s new charge, additional release conditions will be considered during his first court appearance on Friday.
In addition, as part of the investigation, the Wake Forest Police Department executed a search warrant on Wednesday at the home of Kochetkov. After consulting with the Wake County District Attorney’s Office, the police department can confirm that no firearms were located during the search.
The Wake Forest Police Department and Wake County District Attorney’s Office, with assistance from the Wake County Sheriff’s Office, Wake County Public School System, State Bureau of Investigation, Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Attorney’s Office, and other law enforcement agencies are actively working this case and have made it a top priority.
