The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department will sponsor “Lawn Care 101” Tuesday, Feb. 12, from 6-8 p.m. The class will take place in the Town Hall Ground Floor Meeting Room, 301 S. Brooks St. The room is most easily accessed via Town Hall’s Taylor Street entrance.
Geared to homeowners, the “how-to” session will emphasize warm season turf management and address issues related to establishing and caring for your lawn. The workshop will also address common landscaping practices used throughout Town-maintained parks.
Park Maintenance Superintendent Josh Glover will lead the workshop. An N.C. State graduate with a degree in Turfgrass Science, Glover has 10 years turf management experience involving everything from parks and golf courses to professional baseball and football sports turf, including Bank of America Stadium.
The cost to participate is $5 and registration is required. The nominal fee will be used to help sponsor a cooking class for Club Connect, a social club for teens and young adults with disabilities sponsored by the PRCR Department.
This class is limited to the first 50 people to register, but several seats are still available. Register online at www.wakeforestnc.gov/lawn-care-101.aspx.
