Job Description:
Job Responsiblities:
Monday-Friday, 8-10 hour work days (time is dependant on weather)
Operate and maintain compositing facility and assit in operation of land irrigation equipment,Regular tasks include:
Operation of front – end loaders
Transport waste sludge and filter pads from production ares to the compost facility
Unloading of raw materials
Assist in operation of compost mixer and construciton of windrows
Operation of windrow turner and compost screen
Monitoring and recording necessary information for departmental databases
Cleaning of compost site
Moving, setup, startup and monitoring and shutdown of portable spray irrigation equipment
Startup, monitoring and shutdown of center pivot irrigation equipment
Operation of irrigation pumps
Assist in repair of irrigation and composting equipment
Other Duties as assigned by Departmental Manager and Supervisor
Environmental Operator Qualificiations :
Commercial CDL Driver License
High School Diploma/ GED
Computer data entry, recordkeeping and recording experience
Ability to operate tractors and related heavy equipment (Farm Equipment exp helpful, tractors, construction experience, Front End Loaders)
Ability to carry out mechanical repairs to equipment
Must be physically able to perform all tasks related to the position to include the ability to walk, bend, climb stairs and ladders, and to lift 50 pounds without assistance. Good Visual acuity is necessary, as well as the manual dexterity to enter computer data and retrieve records, and to perform manual repair work on equipment.
Must be able to pass background check, physical and drug test
