A historic home that was being renovated caught fire late Wednesday night. The home was located at 427 N. Main Street. The call came in around 11:30pm and when Engine #1 and Ladder #1 arrived on scene within 4 minutes of dispatch, the house was completely engulfed in flames. Ladder #1, Engine #1, Engine #2, and Engine #3 all used master streams and attack hose lines to apply water to the house as well as protecting nearby structures on all four sides. The fire was eventually brought under control before the flames could spread to any other homes.
Other units on scene that assisted in water supply and fire attack were WFFD Engine #5 and units from Rolesville and Stony Hill. One firefighter was injured at the fire but was released from the hospital early Thursday morning. No one was in the house at the time of the blaze. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. – Source
