Ann Stacey Lloyd, 93, of Louisburg, passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 12, 2020 at Louisburg Nursing and Rehabilatation Center. She was born in England, the daughter of the late Thomas and Eliza Stacey and was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church.
Ann met her husband of 42 years, George Thomas Lloyd, during WWII in London, England where they were married. She came to America in 1946 on the Thomas S. Barry, she was one of hundreds of military wives on the ship. She lived with her in-laws for 6 months before George joined her in the Royal community where they lived their married life. They operated a general store in Royal for 37 years.
A private graveside service will be held at Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Gary McNair officiating. Face coverings and social distancing by those attending is requested.
Mrs. Lloyd is survived by her daughter, Janet L. White and husband, Mike, of Youngsville; son, Tommy Lloyd and wife, Jenny, of Louisburg; grandchildren, Kevin White and wife, Blair, and Shane White; great-grandchildren, Katie White, Elijah Teague, Gabriel Teague, and Angelia Teague. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Lloyd was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jennifer Lloyd; great-grandson, Justin Lloyd; sisters, Lou, Rose, Mill, and Lil and by her brother, Tommy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Flat Rock Baptist Church, 1529 Flat Rock Church Road, Louisburg, NC 27549.
